Common Situations

01 The Current Setting Is No Longer Working

When what has been tried is no longer helping — or has stopped working entirely — the first step is understanding why and what needs to change.

02 It Is Unclear What Level of Support Is Needed

Not every student needs the same kind of help. When it is hard to know whether the next step is a different school, a therapeutic program, or something else entirely, an outside perspective can bring clarity.

03 It Is Hard to Know Which School or Program is Right

There are hundreds of programs and schools across the country. Knowing which ones are the right fit and which ones are worth a closer look takes first-hand knowledge that most families simply do not have access to.

04 A Student is Struggling to Gain Independence

When a young person is stuck and unable to move forward in school, work, or daily life, finding the right support and the right setting can make a meaningful difference.

The Process

01 Initial Contact

Reach out by phone, email, or the contact form. Someone will get back to you the same day. If the situation is urgent, call or text (508) 717-1714.

02 Consultation & Review

The process begins with a phone, Zoom, or FaceTime call to understand your concerns, the current situation, and what kind of support may be needed. In many cases, Josh will quickly do additional research to understand whether your family's needs align with his experience.

03 Honest Assessment

You will hear candidly whether this is the right fit. If a different approach would better serve your family, that will be said directly — and when appropriate, a trusted referral will be made. If it does appear to be the right fit, the next step may include meeting with the student, reviewing prior evaluations, and speaking with teachers or clinical and medical providers when appropriate.

04 Engagement & Next Steps

If your family decides to move forward, Josh will outline a mutually agreed-upon timeline and begin work right away.

From that point forward, your family will have a clear process, direct communication, and a plan in motion.
